Jon works hard every day for his many clients, as both an advocate and a counselor. He enjoys fighting for the deserving underdog. The focus of Jon’s trial practice has been in negligence and other civil matters, all in the pursuit of justice for his clients. Many of Jon’s personal injury clients have remarked upon how comfortable he made them feel throughout the process, while still pushing hard against the opponents to achieve the very best result.
Jon handles other matters for his many North Country clients as well, including in the areas of probate administration, estate planning, municipal and business representation, and real estate transactions. At all three of the firm’s offices, Jon regularly guides businesses, families, and town boards to simple but effective solutions, whether on a routine matter or in a moment of crisis.
Professionally, Jon has lectured on the topic of “Overcoming Complex Challenges in Uninsured Motorist Insurance Law”. He has been a frequent presenter on legal topics for the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association, and has presented locally on the topics of estate planning and regulatory eminent domain.
A graduate of Colebrook Academy, Jon earned his A.B. in English from Dartmouth College, and his J.D. from UNH School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center). In 2014, Jon received the Vickie M. Bunnell Award for Community Service, in recognition of his dedicated service to his local community.
While serving two terms on the Colebrook School Board, Jon chaired the Building Committee which completed extensive new construction and renovations to local schools. He has also served since 2007 on the Board of Directors of First Colebrook Bank. In the past, he has served as a member of the Planning Board for the Unincorporated Places in Coos County.
Jon lives in Colebrook with his wife, Kathy, and their children, James, Maggie, and Cameron. Jon is active in local youth sports, as a coach and board member of the local Cal Ripken/Bambino League. When they have the time, Jon and his family also fit in various outdoor activities in the Great North Woods, including hunting, hiking, and ATV riding. An avid sportsman, Jon has bagged several trophy whitetail deer in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
