Justice, sir, is the great interest of man on earth. It is the ligament which holds civilized beings and civilized nations together.
– Daniel Webster

Biography
Wrongful death cases are often more complex, because there can be other related legal matters to consider, such as all the issues in the deceased’s probate estate. Jon’s practice also includes extensive probate administration, probate litigation, and estate planning for many clients throughout New Hampshire. As a result, Jon is uniquely qualified to handle wrongful death cases that involve a blend of liability, insurance, probate, creditor, and inheritance issues, even if there are multiple states with different laws involved.
Jon has been a board member and Coös County representative of the New Hampshire Association for Justice, which fights for the interests of victims, workers, and their families. Jon has presented at Continuing Legal Education programs and public information seminars on such topics as Uninsured Motorist (UM) insurance coverage, eminent domain, and family business succession planning. He has also obtained groundbreaking results at the New Hampshire Supreme Court in areas of eminent domain, judgment collection, and county taxation.
Jon graduated from Colebrook Academy in 1987, Dartmouth College in 1991, and Franklin Pierce Law School (UNH Law School) in 1996. In 2014, he received the Vickie M. Bunnell Award for Community Service from the N.H. Bar Association. Jon’s civic and community activities have included serving on the Colebrook School Board, serving on the board of the former First Colebrook Bank, coaching many youth sports teams, and serving as the local town/school moderator. Jon also serves as an officer of the Coös County Bar Association, and since 2022 now also serves as a corporator of Passumpsic Savings Bank.
Jon and his wife Kathy have raised their three children in Colebrook, but now travel throughout northern New England to (try to) keep up with their offspring. Jon is also an avid outdoorsman; he has tracked and bagged several trophy whitetail deer in the big, deep woods of New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.

In injury cases, our fees are usually based on a percentage of recovery so that you don’t have to pay anything until your case is finished. We will keep you informed and work with you. We have the resources and the support staff to assist you along every step in the process.
