Phil is primarily a trial lawyer and has been throughout his career. He concentrates his practice in significant personal injury litigation in the federal and state courts for those injured by the carelessness of others or by dangerous products. He enjoys helping hard-working people get their life back together after unexpected injuries.
Phil is a Fellow of the American College of Trial lawyers and has been listed in “Best Lawyers in America” in personal injury litigation for more than 20 years. He has also been selected as a New England “Super Lawyer” numerous times.

Biography
Throughout his career, Phil has maintained strong ties to the legal community. He served as President of the New Hampshire Bar Association (1986-1987), Co-Chair of Governor John Lynch’s Judicial Selection Commission for seven years (2005-2012), and a member of Governor Jeanne Shaheen’s Judicial Selection Commission from 2000-2003.
Phil was appointed by the New Hampshire Supreme Court to serve on the Court’s Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) from 1996-2003. Thereafter, he served as a member of the PCC Hearings Panel. He received the Distinguished Service to the Legal Profession Award from the New Hampshire Bar Association in 2012 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Hampshire Association for Justice in 2018.
When Phil is not in the courtroom, he is often found assisting other attorneys and practitioners by passing on his knowledge and experience by way of lecturing. He has been, and continues to be, a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education programs for bar and trial lawyer associations in various areas of trial practice, including opening statements, juror attitudes, expert witnesses, electronic discovery, and trial tactics.
Phil has served his own community as a member and chairman of the local school board for two terms. He served on the board of directors and as president of the local hospital for eight years. He currently serves as town moderator in Whitefield, New Hampshire.
He previously served on the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Public Defender Program for more than 15 years. He currently serves as a member of the North Country Advisory Board of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
